Shine a Light 2015

As we approach the end of another year, it is time for many of us to celebrate the joy of Christmas, but for all of us to reflect on the passing year, and our thoughts of loved ones is especially close to our hearts.
The Louise  Hamilton Centre  will be a legacy  to be carried forward for many years to come. So many local people have contributed , a celebration  in its own right- so help us celebrate with light.

Terms & Conditions

1. Tickets can only be sold to persons over the age of 16.

2. The Raffle will be drawn on the 29th May 2014.

3. The winning number will be published on 3rd June 2014 on the www.palliative-care-east.org.uk website

4. The cost of each Ticket is £1 and payment must be in advance.

5. All profits from the Raffle go to Palliative Care East (charity number 1050406-5) which is registered with the Charity Commission as a subsidiary charity of the James Paget University Hospitals Charitable Fund (1050406-5)

6. The Holiday Voucher is supplied by Benchmark Travel Ltd, The Travel Centre, 7-9 Bridge End, Mytholmroyd, Hebden Bridge, HX7 5DR - ABTA J8828. Conditions of its use may vary. Full details of those conditions may be obtained by emailing info@benchmarktravel.co.uk. In brief the Voucher is not transferrable, must be used by 31st December 2014  for travel up to 31st May 2015 

7. There are no cash or goods alternatives to the prize, nor will any monies be refunded should the holiday/travel arrangements chosen be less than the amount of the Voucher. The Holiday Voucher will be sent by post within 7 days of the date of the draw.

8. The promoter reserves the right to use the winner's name for promotional purposes. These will initially only be in summary, with addresses and telephone numbers remaining confidential.

9. The promoter is not responsible for any delays in the process.

10. No liability is accepted by the promoter or the supplier for loss, theft or delayed receipt of any communication sent by post.

Forthcoming Events


Great People Supporting Our Centre




Jon O’Hara, Holly Notcutt, and Kalvin Scott who have each completed or are in the process of completing challenges to raise monies for Palliative Care East.  Jon O’Hara completed the Ironman UK which involved 24 miles swimming, then a 112 mile bike ride, and then running a marathon.  He completed this in 13hours and 35 minutes.  The marathon was a tough challenge as it was completed during torrential rain which made it even harder.  Jon works for Shell and has had the support of his wife and son throughout the training and the challenge itself.  Jon raised over £3000 for this challenge and monies are still being accepted on Just Giving for this.  For up to date information visit Jon’s Just Giving page.

Holly Notcutt works at Great Yarmouth Borough Council and was sponsored to cycle to Paris by  her colleagues at work.  Holly raised £500 for the charity.

Kalvin Scott works in pharmacy at JPUH and lost his girlfriend Natalie to cancer and has committed to run 500 miles and swim 50 miles during 2013 with the end date being 20th December.   So far to date he has run 330 and swam 27.5.  For up to date information go to his Just Giving page.

John Holmes has written several books and donates the proceeds to charities.  John works tirelessly and relentlessly to raise funds for charity.





Moveable Feast that was undertaken in June of this year and as you can a good time was had by all!  Monies were raised from this for Palliative Care East.  The Moveable Feast is to be a yearly event on the charities calendar.  The date set for 2014 is Tuesday 17th June.  Book early to avoid disappointment!






Meadowcourt was a group of residents from their who decided to hold a coffee morning with all monies raised to PCE.  They raised  £300 from this event.




Butterfly wall, is within the centre and for any donation or fundraising activity that exceeds £2000 a butterfly can be engraved with your name or group to show your support.

Outstanding craftsmanship award for Louise Hamilton Centre


Great news for the people who designed and built our lovely Louise Hamilton Centre. 

They won the Norfolk Association of Architects' Outstanding Craftsmanship Award in the non-residential category.
